What this marketplace is

ClosetKit Market is a venue that connects independent sellers and buyers of pre-owned clothing and accessories. Each seller is the merchant of record for their own sales. The platform does not own, hold, inspect, or ship items and does not hold buyer or seller funds.

Payments and fees

Payments are processed by Stripe through each seller's own Stripe account. The platform charges sellers a 5% application fee per completed sale, deducted automatically at payment time. Stripe's processing fees are borne by the seller. Refunds and chargebacks are between the buyer, the seller, and Stripe; refunding a sale reduces the seller's Stripe balance.

Taxes

Sellers are responsible for determining, collecting, and remitting any sales tax, VAT, or income tax that applies to their sales, and for their own tax reporting. Stripe issues applicable tax forms (such as 1099-K in the US) directly to sellers.

Seller obligations

Sellers must accurately describe items, ship within 5 business days of payment, and honor the condition stated. High-volume sellers (200+ sales and $5,000+ gross in 12 months) must provide and annually certify identity, contact, and bank information as required by the INFORM Consumers Act, and consent to the disclosure of seller identity on listings where the law requires it.

Prohibited conduct

No counterfeit goods, no prohibited items (see the Prohibited items page), no fee circumvention, no harassment, no manipulation of reviews.

Termination

The platform may remove listings or suspend accounts that violate these terms or the law. You may delete your account at any time from the Delete account page.

Liability

The platform is provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the platform's liability for any claim is limited to the platform fees paid on the transaction giving rise to the claim.
